Description
The basic concept of a breakout board is that it takes a single electrical component and makes it easy to use. Most of electronic components have pins on them. A breakout board “breaks out” these pins onto a printed circuit board that has its own pins that are spaced perfectly for a solderless breadboard, giving you easy access to use.
Micro USB is an international standard and widely used in many consumer devices for power or data interface. It’s tiny and doesn’t take up much space. It has become so popular that you can find compatible cables easily. If you want to add a micro USB port to your project, this breakout board is for you. If you just want to power up your project(just use VBUS and GND) or want it to have a data transmission features also can 🙂
As simple as it is, this board breaks out all 5 pins which are the VBUS, GND, D-, D+, and ID pins of the female micro USB connector. Each of these pins, along with the ID pin, are broken out into a 1×5 row of pins on the board.
You can then solder a 5-pin header to plug into a breadboard or solder wires directly to the holes. The board measures 15mm x 13mm not including the connector. All connections are labelled on the PCB. There are two M3 mounting holes for you to mount this breakout board. A great convenience to your application!
